Dr Pooky Knightsmith

Chartered Psychologist

Pooky is a Chartered Psychologist with a background in experimental psychology (Oxford) and a PhD in Psychological Medicine from the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London. She specialises in the mental health and special educational needs of children and young people, with a particular focus on neurodivergence.

As a late-diagnosed autistic adult and a mother to neurodivergent daughters, Pooky brings both lived and professional experience to her work. She draws on her insights as a biological, adoptive, and foster parent to help those working with or caring for neurodivergent children and young people feel equipped, empowered, and supported.

Alongside her consultancy work, Pooky is happiest outdoors, often exploring the world from the back of a tandem bike, seeking out moments of awe and wonder in nature.
